Raspberry Hibiscus Coconut Cloud Smoothie

This creamy cloud smoothie is full of fruit flavor layered with a collagen-rich smoothie that will satisfy with healthy fats and protein.

Cloud smoothies are a new trend made popular by Erewhon grocery stores. While the original is a tie-dye blend of white and blue, many variations of this fluffy smoothie have popped up. This raspberry hibiscus version is full of antioxidants and a touch of nut butter, ideal for enjoying for breakfast or whenever hunger strikes.

The cloud smoothie consists of 4 main ingredients: coconut cream, frozen banana, collagen peptides, and nut butter. Coconut cream is responsible for the thick and creamy texture of the smoothie. Coconut cream is the thick white portion you’ll find in a can of coconut milk. It is made up of mostly fat, giving the smoothie a rich texture and staying power. Coconut milk is also dairy-free, making it great for those with lactose or dairy sensitivities or anyone on a plant-based diet.  Frozen banana adds natural sweetness and thicks the smoothie more without watering it down.

Collagen peptides add amino acids which are the building blocks of muscle, bones,  joints, tendons, and tissues, and keep nails and skin looking healthy. Nut butter adds a satisfying flavor and healthy fats. Any of your favorite nut butter can be used, just avoid those with added sugar.

To give this smoothie a fruity flavor, we added frozen raspberries and hibiscus tea crystals. Raspberries are rich in potassium and a powerhouse when it comes to antioxidants. Eating raspberries supports cardiovascular health and healthy blood pressure.

Hibiscus is naturally high in immune-supporting vitamin C and phytonutrients that help to fight free-radical damage. Hibiscus tea has a vibrant pink-red color and tastes tart like raspberries or pomegranate. Hibiscus tea crystals are naturally caffeine-free making this smoothie perfect for any time of day.
