Watermelon Matcha

This iced watermelon matcha drink is made with two antioxidant-rich ingredients to support health from the inside out.

Take advantage of all the fresh seasonal watermelon that’s available by not only eating this hydrating fruit, but drinking it too! This vibrant pink and green drink is a blend of sweet watermelon and clean, grassy Matcha. Each has their own unique benefits that combine to make this rejuvenating iced beverage.

Sun Goddess Matcha is in a class of its own – made from the highest grade ceremonial matcha that is pesticide-free. This zen-inducing tea contains the amino acid l-theanine, known for giving calm energy. L-theanine may help curb stress and promote relaxation. Matcha is also rich in catechins, a type of antioxidant that supports healthy cells by fighting free radical damage.

A puréed combination of watermelon and fresh lemon juice top off this drink. Together they add sweet-tangy flavor that compliments the bitter notes of matcha.

Watermelon is rich in the antioxidant lycopene. Lycopene-rich foods help protect skin cells from sun damage and promote a healthy heart. Watermelon is also a good source of potassium, vitamin-C, beta-carotene, and because it’s full of water, an excellent way to stay hydrated.

To make this drink, simply purée cubed (seedless) watermelon and lemon juice. Strain after blending if desired for a smoother texture. Add watermelon purée to a glass followed by ice. Slowly pour matcha on top. Enjoy!
