This homemade small-batch lemonade gives store-bought versions a run for their money, infused with green tea, mint, cucumber and freshly squeezed lemon juice. It’s a refreshment that will not only hydrate but also invigorate the senses. Now that’s something to sip on!
The Power of Green Tea
Next to water, green tea is one of the most popular beverages. The Sencha variety of green tea is picked from the first harvest for maximum flavor.
Pucker Up with Fresh Lemon
For this recipe, about 4 lemons are used to make one batch of tangy lemonade. Incorporating the lip-smacking flavor of fresh lemon juice adds an antioxidant dose of vitamin-C.
Ingredients
- 4 cups filtered water
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice about 4 lemons
- 1/2 cup raw honey
- 3 packets Pique Mint Green Tea
- 8 mint leaves
- 1/4 cup diced cucumber
Instructions
- Heat water in a medium saucepan until steaming. Turn heat off and stir in honey and mint green sencha tea to dissolve. Pour into a pitcher and refrigerate for 30 minutes to cool.
- Stir lemon juice into tea mixture in pitcher. In a pint glass, muddle cucumber and mint with 2 tablespoons of filtered water. Use a cocktail strainer to pour juice from muddled mixture into lemonade. Stir well. Chill for 1 hour. Serve over ice garnished with mint and sliced cucumber. Store any leftover lemonade in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
