This fizzy berry drink is full of probiotics and electrolytes keeping the gut balanced and hydrating from the inside out.

Kombucha is a fermented tea beverage that has gained popularity in recent years. It is made by fermenting sweetened tea with a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast (SCOBY). In this recipe, you can use traditional kombucha that is unflavored or use a berry kombucha for a drink bursting with berry flavor!

Some potential benefits of kombucha include:

  1. Probiotic properties: Kombucha contains live bacteria and yeast, which are known as probiotics. These probiotics can contribute to a healthy gut microbiome and support digestion. However, the specific strains and amounts of probiotics in kombucha can vary.
  2. Improved digestion: The probiotics in kombucha may promote digestion and help maintain a healthy balance of gut bacteria. Some people claim that consuming kombucha has helped them with issues like bloating, gas, and constipation, although more research is needed to confirm these effects.
  3. Antioxidant activity: Kombucha is believed to have antioxidant properties. Antioxidants help protect the body against damage from harmful molecules called free radicals, which are associated with various diseases and aging processes. The fermentation process of kombucha produces compounds like polyphenols, which are known for their antioxidant activity.

B•T Fountain electrolytes make it easy to stay hydrated on the hottest days. It dissolves effortlessly in water, leaving behind a delicious yuzu berry flavor.

Electrolytes play a vital role in maintaining numerous bodily functions, and their benefits are linked to their ability to regulate fluid balance, support nerve function, aid in muscle contractions, and contribute to various physiological processes.

Here are some key benefits associated with electrolytes:

  1. Fluid balance: Electrolytes help regulate the balance of fluids within the body. They ensure that the proper amount of water is present in cells and tissues, which is crucial for optimal hydration and overall bodily function.
  2. Hydration: Electrolytes, such as sodium and potassium, are essential for maintaining proper hydration. They help retain water in the body and prevent excessive fluid loss through urine, sweat, and other bodily excretions. Adequate hydration is important for maintaining energy levels, regulating body temperature, supporting organ function, and promoting overall well-being.

You can use any of your favorite fresh seasonal berries in this recipe. We opted for juicy raspberries and strawberries. Blackberries or blueberries would also be delicious.
