Earl Grey Oatmeal Main

Elevate your oatmeal with this tea-infused recipe full of comforting aroma and plenty of antioxidants to start the day off right!

Oatmeal is a stick-to-your-ribs breakfast with staying power thanks to plenty of fiber and hearty texture. Old fashioned oats add a chewy texture that is worth the wait. This recipe adds the inviting scent of bergamot from earl grey tea, paired with pure maple syrup, pumpkin seeds, pecans and fresh berries!

Earl grey tea isn’t just a great tea for sipping, its citrusy notes bring sweet recipes to new heights. This black tea contains antioxidants and supports digestion as well as gut health. Add earl grey tea to muffins, quick breads or chia pudding for built-in tea with bergamot flavor. The beauty of these tea crystals is their ability to effortlessly blend into recipes without any steeping required!

Nature’s Vitamins

For a burst of juicy flavor, blackberries and blueberries top off the oatmeal adding even more immune system-supporting antioxidants and vitamin-C, which are especially helpful in the cooler months. Blueberries and blackberries contain unique antioxidants called anthocyanins which gives them their richly pigmented colors. Other great fruit toppings include strawberries, pomegranate arils, and raspberries. When choosing berries to top your oatmeal, reach for those that are in peak season. For instance, pomegranate is a winter fruit while blackberries are at their height of flavor in the summer months.

Earl Grey Oatmeal with Fruits

Go Nuts (and Seeds)

For crunchy texture, pecans and pumpkin seeds are added. They also add trace minerals to the recipe along with nutty flavor. Pistachios, almonds, walnuts, and hazelnuts can also be used.

To sweeten the oats, pure maple syrup is used giving a rich flavor and depth to the oatmeal. Raw honey can be substituted if preferred. To add creaminess, unsweetened almond milk is stirred in, keeping the recipe dairy-free.
