Honey Vanilla Rooibos Latte Recipe

This cozy latte will soothe after a long day. Made with rooibos tea, raw honey and real vanilla paste, its aroma and flavor is sure to help you unwind. 

This caffeine-free latte sets itself apart from popular coffee drinks that are often full of caffeine that disrupts sleep cycles and can trigger jitters. Using tea instead of coffee ensures a robust flavor that satisfies a latte craving, sans caffeine. 

Rooibos is a red tea that has an earthy flavor with notes of vanilla and caramel, perfect for pairing with real vanilla bean for a flavor that is out-of-this-world. This lesser known tea is different from black or green tea because it’s low in tannins, contains more antioxidants than green tea and is caffeine-free! It’s ideal for enjoying anytime of day, especially in the evening when you want something hot and soothing to sip. Rooibos is a terrific option for anyone looking to remove caffeine from their diet or those with sensitivities to tannins. 

Rooibos contains polyphenols that help maintain a healthy microflora in the gut and support immune function. 

Honey and vanilla evoke warm and cozy vibes that soothe the mind. Raw honey is rich in enzymes that help support digestion, the immune system and is rich in antioxidants. Raw honey hasn’t been heated at high temperatures, so the precious enzymes and minerals stay intact. 

Vanilla bean paste adds real vanilla flavor in every sip, no artificial syrups here. Vanilla bean paste is thicker than extract with little specks of vanilla bean paste. A little bit goes a long way, so a jar of vanilla paste should last a long time. 

The latte is finished with a generous topping of frothed almond milk. The milk is unsweetened allowing for the flavor of honey to stand out. Finish with an additional drizzle of honey on top if desired.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 sachet Pique Rooibos Vitality Elixir
  • 1 tbsp honey + extra for serving
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 1/3 cup frothed almond milk

Instructions

  • Heat almond milk over medium low heat until steaming. Whisk in rooibos tea crystals, honey and vanilla bean paste.
  • Pour into a large mug and top with frothed milk. Drizzle additional honey on top. Enjoy hot.
