For a festive recipe that will brighten spirits throughout the holiday season, reach for this apple cranberry punch with robust citrus notes from earl grey tea!
The soothing aroma of earl grey tea pairs perfectly with caramel notes of bourbon, crisp apple and tangy cranberries in this holiday-inspired punch. No added sweeteners are necessary because the apple cider has a naturally sweet baked apple flavor.
Teas the Season
The recipe starts by simmering apple cider, cranberries and a slice of orange. The cranberries soften, infusing their tart flavor into the apple cider. After straining, the cider is refrigerated until chilled. Cranberries are excellent for supporting urinary health and keeping the immune system strong with vitamin-C.
Unsweetened apple cider can be found in most grocery stores during the fall and winter months. The apple cider provides a naturally sweet base to the cocktail that balances the punch with spiced notes.
Earl grey tea crystals are made from Ceylon black tea. The caffeine in this tea provides a calm, focused energy ideal for morning or afternoon sipping. Black tea contains polyphenols and prebiotics that support digestive health.
This fruity punch is served over ice and finished with a generous splash of zesty ginger beer. Ginger beer is an alcohol-free fizzy ginger soda that adds a spicy finish to the cocktail. You can also use sugar-free ginger ale in a pinch.
A rosemary sprig gives the punch a festive winter feel and woody aroma. A twist of orange accentuates the orange flavor of the punch.
A large batch of this punch can be made ahead of time for easy assembly during parties. Simply double or quadruple the recipe depending on how many guests you’ll be serving.
