This refreshing summertime sparkler is perfect for revitalizing, full of antioxidants with no steeping required!
Fresh muddled strawberries make this white tea infused mocktail a hit for backyard barbecues or kicking back after a long day. While strawberries are available year round, they’re best used when in-season for peak flavor, April-June. Whether you pick them from your own garden or purchase at the market, look for ripe strawberries for the sweetest flavor and berry aroma. A splash of sparkling water makes this drink refreshing and fizzy.
White Tea: An Antioxidant Powerhouse
White tea has a smooth, robust flavor with subtle notes of floral. It’s the least oxidized of all teas making it a very potent source of antioxidants. Due to its impressive polyphenol content (a type of antioxidant), white tea is considered to be a helpful weapon against aging. Polyphenols can help counteract aging by fighting off free radicals caused by stress, sun damage and pollution. Along with anti-aging properties, white tea contains anti-inflammatory and immune system strengthening benefits.
What’s more, white tea contains an amino acid called L-theanine that helps promote focus and awareness. In combination with white tea’s low caffeine, this makes it the ideal beverage to sip when you want to combat stress and anxiety.
Note: White tea contains a small kick of caffeine—less than coffee or green tea—but still enough to give you a boost.
To add sweetness and fruity flavor, fresh strawberries and raw honey are muddled together, creating a jammy flavor that’s as delicious as it is good for you. Strawberries provide a dose of vitamin-C and antioxidants while raw honey offers antibacterial and antiviral properties. Manuka honey is ideal, but any richly colored raw honey will also work. (1)
